Xur's Weekend Inventory Update - Destiny 2 Episode Heresy
I've been waiting all week for this moment - Xur has returned to the Tower with his mysterious collection of exotic and legendary gear. As a Destiny 2 player who's been grinding through Episode Heresy's chaotic launch, seeing Xur's familiar silhouette in the Bazaar brings me genuine comfort. The servers might have been temperamental earlier this week, but Xur's offerings remain as reliable as ever.

Finding Xur is easier than ever now that he's taken up permanent residence in the Bazaar area of the Tower. No more frantic planet-hopping across the solar system! I simply fast travel to the Tower and head toward the Ramen Shop near Ikora and Hawthorne. There he stands, in that shadowy alley to the right, looking as enigmatic as always with his tentacled face and mysterious demeanor.
Exotic Armor Highlights
This weekend's exotic armor selection feels... interesting, to say the least. Let me break down what caught my eye:
Vesper of Radius - This Warlock chest armor is showing up with a whopping 30 Recovery stat, which honestly makes my Recovery-loving Warlock heart beat faster. Sure, the exotic perk might be situational, but when you're surrounded by enemies in PvE content, those arc pulses can be a real lifesaver. The stats distribution is peculiar though - only +2 Mobility but +18 Intellect? Someone at Bungie must have been feeling creative this week.

Khepri's Sting - Hunters get this void-focused gauntlet with a modest total stat roll of 61. I've always had a love-hate relationship with these gauntlets. They can absolutely shred in PvP when used correctly, but that learning curve is steeper than the climb to Legend rank. The +19 Resilience is nice, but that +2 Recovery hurts my soul to look at.
Antaeus Wards - Titans, rejoice! These exotic legs are back with their signature sliding shield ability. There's something incredibly satisfying about deflecting a rocket back at an enemy who thought they had you cornered. The 69 total stat distribution is actually pretty solid, with +16 Resilience and +16 Strength making this a potentially great choice for aggressive Titan players.
Exotic Weapons Galore
Year 7's Xur overhaul means we get multiple exotic weapons in one visit, and this weekend's selection is particularly spicy:
Hawkmoon - This hand cannon remains one of my personal favorites. The Paracausal Shot perk that builds charge with precision hits feels so rewarding when that final round absolutely demolishes a major enemy. The roll this week comes with Fluted Barrel and Quickdraw, making it surprisingly snappy for a hand cannon.

Arbalest - In a meta where Barrier Champions seem to be everywhere, having a reliable counter is essential. Arbalest's Compounding Force perk makes short work of any shielded enemy, and the Disruption Break effect is just icing on the cake. This linear fusion rifle has saved my fireteam more times than I can count during difficult Nightfalls.
Coldheart - The OG trace rifle makes its appearance with that satisfying continuous beam of arc energy. Cold Fusion's damage ramp-up means you can melt through tougher enemies if you maintain your aim. It's not exactly meta these days, but sometimes you just want to roleplay as Emperor Palpatine with unlimited power.
DARCI - The smart sniper rifle that gives you all the tactical information you could want. Personal Assistant is fantastic for learning enemy weak points, and Target Acquired turns this into a precision monster when you need to take down high-value targets from distance.
Legendary Weapons and Armor
Xur's legendary offerings include some real workhorses that have served me well throughout my Destiny journey:
-
False Promises and Scathelocke - Two solid kinetic auto rifles that feel great in different situations
-
Seventh Seraph VY-7 - This energy SMG has been a consistent performer since it was introduced
-
Iota Draconis - A fusion rifle that packs a surprising punch
-
Various heavy weapons including rocket launchers and swords
The entire legendary armor set is available for those looking to complete their collections or chase better stat rolls. At 50 Legendary Shards and 1000 Glimmer per piece, it's honestly a pretty good deal considering how much grinding you'd need to do otherwise.
Xur's New Role in Year 7
I have to say, the Year 7 changes to Xur have been mostly positive. The addition of a proper rank progression system gives me more reasons to visit him regularly beyond just weekend shopping trips. Being able to focus specific weapons and armor means I can actually target the gear I want rather than relying purely on RNG.
His inventory now includes more than just gear - catalysts for weapons like Coldheart and Sturm, the Xurfboard vehicle, and various upgrade materials make him a one-stop shop for guardians looking to power up. The Strange Gift for 1 Strange Coin remains one of my favorite little mysteries - it's like playing Destiny slot machine with potentially great rewards.
Final Thoughts
As I wrap up my shopping trip this weekend, I can't help but appreciate how Xur has evolved while maintaining his core identity. He's gone from being this mysterious weekend merchant to an integral part of the Tower's economy and progression systems. The server issues at Episode Heresy's launch were frustrating, but seeing Xur standing there with his usual inventory helped normalize what was otherwise a rocky week.
Whether you're chasing specific god rolls, completing your exotic collection, or just curious what strange wares the Nine have sent this time, Xur remains Destiny's most consistent vendor. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some new exotics to test out in the EDZ... and maybe finally get that Hawkmoon roll I've been dreaming of.
