Destiny 2: Sails of the Shipstealer Week 5 Walkthrough — A 2026 Look Back
Conquer Season of Plunder's Sails of the Shipstealer questline: Step 34, buried treasure, Champions, Arask's Pirate Hideout.
In 2026, I still remember the week Season of Plunder's Sails of the Shipstealer questline moved from Step 34 to 41. It felt like a Ketch running silent through an asteroid field—steady, tense, and always one breach away from disaster. I returned to the H.E.L.M., watched Mithrax pace, and learned that Eido had sent a message to Eramis invoking an old Eliksni ritualistic ceasefire. Mithrax did not trust Eramis to honor the peaceful nature of those talks. If she accepted, he asked me to accompany Eido. That request hung in the air like a blade made of glass.

Step 34: Visit The Star Chart
I returned to the H.E.L.M. to receive my next seasonal mission. Mithrax met me and warned that Eido had sent a message to Eramis seeking a meeting, invoking an old Eliksni ritualistic ceasefire. Mithrax did not trust Eramis to honor the peaceful nature of these talks. If Eramis accepted, he asked me to accompany Eido on this dangerous mission.

Step 35: Buried Treasure & Champions
The first part of this quest—digging up buried treasure on an Expedition—was easy. I equipped a treasure map in my Captain's Atlas and remembered to dig up the treasure at the end of the activity.
The second part, defeating 50 Champions, might have given me pause. It was quite the number! One Master Ketchcrash run completed the Champion requirement, but that activity did not include any matchmaking, so I needed to gather a strike team ahead of running it. Otherwise, Expeditions or Dares of Eternity could net me 6 per run.
UPDATE: Bungie heard the complaints about the completion requirement for this step, and they decided to auto-complete it for all Guardians. If you had not gotten to this step yet, congratulations! It was done. As of 2026, if you are running legacy Season of Plunder content, that auto-complete still saves you from the Champion mountain. It was a mountain made of glass—intimidating until Bungie shattered it with a hotfix.
Step 36: Pirate Hideout: Arask, The Bully
Like previous weekly quest steps, I located another Pirate Hideout in the Themis Cluster, and along with it, another Relic for me to keep out of Eramis' hands. I launched the Pirate Hideout mission from the H.E.L.M. Eido warned me that Arask would not confront me until he had exhausted all of his warriors. I battled him through his cavernous lair, defeating waves of his crew, fought him until he had taken enough damage, then he retreated to the next chamber. I chased him through his hideout until I reached his treasure room, where I was able to slay him.

Once the Pirate Lord had been slain, Eido received a message from Eramis. Eramis agreed to the parley, but she warned Eido not to stand in her way. Eido was perhaps being too naive, thinking she could somehow reach an understanding with Eramis—especially with what we knew of Eramis' past—but Eido was determined to try.
I retrieved the Relic to complete the mission.
Step 37: Witness The Parley
As soon as I retrieved the Relic, I was transported to the parley.
Mithrax, Eido, and Eramis met. Tensions were running high, especially due to my presence, but things eventually calmed. Eido warned Eramis of a third party seeking the relics, which were discovered during last week's Pirate Hideout mission. It was still unclear who this third party might be.
Eramis alluded to Mithrax knowing the dark power of these Relics, which Eido took as her queue to prompt Mithrax for the truth again.
Instead, Eramis told of Mithrax's past. I was treated to an artful cutscene of Mithrax's history with the Relics, how they were collected from the Darkness Pyramid on the Moon, from Nazarec's corpse, and how they corrupted him. She explained that Mithrax became one of the most ruthless pirates among the Eliksni. Eramis viewed Mithrax as a liar and a murderer, a charlatan parading as pious.
The parley landed like a Stasis shard to the spine: quiet, precise, and impossible to shake off. Mithrax's past was a sunken Ketch—Eido had been swimming above it for years, and Eramis just cracked the hull.
The meeting ended shortly after these revelations, with Mithrax begging to explain to his daughter. Eido left without a word.
Step 38: Visit The Ether Tank Holoprojector
I navigated to the H.E.L.M. and traveled to Last City - Eliksni Quarter. Eido had left a message for me. She was processing learning about this dark side of her father. She was frustrated and felt mistrusted. Despite all of this, she was more determined than ever to ensure our mission was successful in order to keep these Relics of Nezarec from falling into the wrong hands.
Step 39: Visit Spider In The Ether Tank
It was time to play Spider's special game again! I chose from the three random offerings of Spider's Special Engram. The choice itself did not matter much. I received a seasonal weapon with Deepsight Resonance as a reward.
Step 40: Continue To Speak With Spider
Spider was again frustrated that I had selected a prize piece of loot from him. Eido reported that she had just jammed another signal, and she now wondered if Spider had some sort of cheating device he had been using with this little game of his. She vowed to continue disrupting the signal 'in the name of fairness.' Spider's little game is a rigged carnival wheel wrapped in Eliksni silk, and Eido is the only one counting the teeth of the gears.
Step 41: Await Further Instructions
This marked the end of Sails of the Shipstealer week 5. Mithrax and Eido would contact me once they had gathered enough intel to begin the next set of missions. In the meantime, I continued to work toward completing my weekly seasonal challenges—and made sure to drop off my new Relic at the H.E.L.M.
Bonus Lore
As usual, I could return outside The Ether Tank to the blue computer screen set up just beside the holoprojector. This time, I was treated to a conversation between Mithrax and Eido. Mithrax did not apologize for hiding his past from her and instead stressed that some history is worth forgetting. But Eido is the historian of their people, and she is determined to uncover the truth.

Final Thoughts From 2026
Looking back from 2026, Week 5 of Sails of the Shipstealer remains one of the strongest character-driven weeks in Destiny 2's seasonal history. It mixed pirate hunts, Champion grinding, and a family rupture that no amount of loot could patch. The questline moved like a well-drilled boarding party: each step had a job, each job fed the story, and the story left a mark.
If you are revisiting this content in 2026—or simply reading the archives like a Guardian historian—remember that the Relics were never just macguffins. They were mirrors. They showed Mithrax what he had been, Eramis what she had become, and Eido what she refused to ignore. That is why this week still matters.
