Even in 2026, Destiny 2’s Exotic Mission Rotator is still dishing out nostalgic challenges that make veterans misty-eyed and newcomers go, “Wait, what’s a Screeb?” This week, the spooky-cabbacy Presage mission is back in rotation, and it’s just as haunting—and just as tricky—as ever. Set aboard the derelict Cabal ship Glykon, this classic blends platforming, puzzles, and intense combat with a dash of horror. Whether you’re chasing the craftable Dead Man’s Tale or just want to flex on the Scorn, our guide will walk you through every spore, lever, and boss phase like a pro. Let’s jump in!

How To Enter The Glykon

Right off the bat, the game tests your platforming chops. After spawning at the front gate, don’t bother with the locked main door—head left and start hopping across a series of jagged ledges. It’s a classic “trust the jump” moment. Keep moving from ledge to ledge until you spot an opening surrounded by debris. That’s your sneaky entrance.

Once inside, you’ll hit a short maze cluttered with rusted grates. Pro tip: you can melee or shoot these grates to break them. Keep pushing forward until you reach a room with a lever. Pull it to unlock the door you initially ignored—sweet, a shortcut! Now, a dark, foggy corridor awaits, blocked by an eerie barrier. Look for the Eggregore Spores on the wall, shoot them to grab the Eggregore Link buff (15-second timer), and the barrier will vanish. Boom, you’re in. Continue through the ship, smashing more grates, until you drop onto a ledge where the first real puzzle begins.

First Puzzle Section

This part is where the Glykon starts playing mind games. As you land on the ledge, you’ll notice an open door on the left. Go inside, clear out the Screebs (those little explodey gremlins), and pull the lever at the end. Return to the main ledge and you’ll see another door has opened, revealing spores. Grab the buff and quickly jump to the platform ahead to dash through a barrier at the back of the room—timing is everything here.

Next, move along the ledges until you spot a glowing power cell. Shoot it to open a trapdoor, drop down, and brace for a Screeb party. Clear them out, then head upstairs to pull another lever. This opens a door on the opposite side of the room. Head through, jump across the gap to another lever, pull it, and backtrack to find a second power cell now exposed. Destroy it, then look for a vertical platform below you. Jump onto it (it’ll flatten out as you land), then drop through the chute into the infamous Trash Compactor. GG if you survive.

How To Survive The Trash Compactor

The trash compactor is a certified “oh crap” moment. The moment you pull the lever at the back, the floor panels pop open and the walls start closing in. Your job: find and destroy three random power cells hidden among the panels—fast. This is not the time to ADS with a scout rifle. Bring weapons that hit hard and fire fast: SMGs, heavy grenade launchers, shotguns—anything that clears panels in a snap. The cells are random every run, so sweep systematically and don’t panic. Once all three are destroyed, a panel will open up as your escape route. Breathe.

After the escape, you’ll enter a darkness zone. Mop up the Scorn and follow the straightforward path to the first major encounter—a big, dusty hangar that screams “boss fight.”

How To Survive The Hangar Encounter

This area is all about add-clear endurance. The hangar throws waves of Scorn at you, including two yellow-bar Abominations that must be killed to progress. Back in the day, this encounter could be a sweat-fest, but with Strand and the subclass 3.0 reworks (still going strong in 2026), you’ve got plenty of tools to dominate. Equip weapons with excellent ad-clear: a Special Waveframe Grenade Launcher is chef’s kiss, and Machine Guns turn the room into a shooting gallery.

Once the abominations are down, look for a ledge at the far end of the hangar leading outside the Glykon. Jump across to another ledge and enter a second hangar. There, climb onto the Cabal ship and find a door in the back left corner. This path takes you into the next puzzle zone. Stay frosty.

Second Puzzle Section

Time to flex your big brain. Start by pulling the lever on the left to reveal spores. Grab the Eggregore Link buff, then book it to the door on the right. Inside, clear the Screebs and pull the lever on the central pillar. This exposes a power cell on the opposite side—shoot it to deactivate an electric fence on the upper floor.

Head upstairs, pull the lever there, and a door behind you opens. Go through and pull another lever to reveal spores on the bottom floor. Grab the buff, then head to the front of the room, take a left, and follow the path straight. You’ll enter a room with more Scorn and a lever at the back. Pull it to open a door with a Scorpius turret inside. Blast the turret and destroy the power cell it was guarding, which reveals spores in the back. Grab the buff again and drop through the hole in the floor to enter a maze.

This maze is Screeb central, so keep your ears open. From the drop point:

  • Shoot the grate on your right to find spores.

  • Grab the buff and go straight until you reach a path on your left.

  • Turn left and follow the light. It’s actually that simple.

You’ll pop out in the original puzzle room, but a new door is now unlocked. Grab spores, dash through, and you’ll reach a lever. Pull it to expose a power cell right next to it—destroy it for more spores across the room. With the buff active, head to the next area: a short jumping puzzle. At the end, pull another lever to spawn a Scorpius. Kill it, and it reveals a power cell in the middle of the jumping section. Return to the start, grab the fresh spores, and complete the jumps again. This leads to a rally flag—and the final boss. Time to lock in.

How To Defeat The Final Boss

The boss room has two floors, and the fight is a mechanical dance. When you drop in, the boss spawns immediately. Damage him a bit, and he’ll teleport to the underground floor, which becomes engulfed in flames—you can’t go down there yet. To access him, you must pull three levers on the top floor:

  • Lever 1: on the pillar where you entered.

  • Lever 2: the opposite side of the room.

  • Lever 3: inside a small room on the left.

While you’re yanking levers, waves of Scorn will harass you. Keep add-clear weapons handy. Once all three are pulled, drop down and DPS the boss. After about a third of his health is gone, the floor burns again—retreat upstairs and repeat the lever puzzle. You’ll do this three times total before the boss is dusted.

The boss’s health pool is laughably small, so heavy hitters like Rocket Launchers or Linear Fusion Rifles make quick work of him. For your other slots, lean into add-clear: waveframe GLs, machine guns, or even a solid primary SMG. Build-wise:

🔹 Warlock: Contraverse Hold, Sunbracers, Fallen Sunstar, or The Swarmers for infinite grenades and trash clear.

🔹 Hunter: Caliban’s Hand, Shinobu’s Vow, or Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk—all slap.

🔹 Titan: Synthoceps, Heart of Inmost Light, or Hallowfire Heart give you both survivability and damage.

Once the boss is down, a door opens on the first floor. Follow the on-screen marker to a final, grim room where a dead Guardian hangs from Eggregore vines. Interact with the body to claim your loot and finish the mission. You’ve earned that Dead Man’s Tale pattern progress, Guardian—now go craft the god roll and make Cayde proud.

Recent trends are highlighted by SteamDB, and they help contextualize why evergreen, replayable activities like Destiny 2’s Exotic Mission Rotator (including Presage) keep pulling players back: missions built around timed buffs, repeatable puzzles, and short boss loops naturally fit the “jump in for a run or two” rhythm that sustains long-tail engagement alongside weekly rotations.
